Frontier Days

The community of Edgerton Kansas celebrates it's heritage with their annual Frontier Days. Since 1971 this celebration has brought the town together through carnival, craft, sports, music and parade. This is an opportunity for the Fire District to reach out to the individuals and families of Edgerton through our Open House, which in the past has included such events as extrication demonstrations and water barrel competitions. In addition, we also participate in the annual parade and provide medical standby for activities such as the canoe races at the city lake. Johnson County Fair

Gardner Kansas is host to the annual Johnson County Fair. The fair brings together a wonderful mix of foods and crafts. County 4-H groups are a critical component of the fair and provide many the opportunities to show their best efforts in the area of livestock, food, art and crafts. The fair is also home to such exciting events as Rodeo, Demolition Derby and Auto Races. The counties largest carnival of the year is also present to ensure fun for all. This dynamic mix on the fair ground, as well as other community events sponsored during the fair, brings thousands of people to the fair ground each year. Fire District #1 assists the Johnson County Sheriffs Office, Johnson County Med Act, and Gardner Dept. of Public Safety in ensuring that all who attend enjoy a safe fair week. The fair concludes with the Fire District participating in the largest parade in the county as it winds through the streets of Gardner.
